What To Expect

Maybe you are returning to church, or coming to church for the very first time. Or, maybe you’re an active church member who just moved to town and needs to find a new church home. Whatever your story may be, you probably have a lot of questions before you visit Grace Fellowship.

Here are some common questions we hear about what to expect on a Sunday at Grace Fellowship. If we’ve missed something, let us know! You’re probably not the only one with that question, so asking us will help us help you and future guests.
  • What is your Sunday schedule?

9:15am - Bible Study In Person or Online

10:30am - Worship Service In Person or Online (service lasts an hour)

    10:30am - Childcare and Children's Church

  • What do I wear?

Come comfortable. Church should be enjoyable! You’ll see people in everything from shorts to suits on Sundays. Our concern isn’t what’s on the outside, but what’s on inside. Come as you are. Jesus accepts us as we are when we come to Him. Why shouldn’t we?

We follow recommended COVID-19 safety guidelines and have Sanitation Stations setup.

  • Where do I park?

There is plenty of parking all around the church. If it is raining you can pull to the left side of the church and use our covered driveway to drop the family off.

  • Is there anything for children?

Yes! Childcare is available for infants and toddlers in our child care center and Children’s Church for kids ages Pre-K to 5th Grade.

Parents, please sign in your kids at the check-in booth on the way to their classroom.

    • J.A.M. Class: Pre-K - 2nd Grade
    • B.L.A.S.T. Class: 3rd - 5th Grade

If you have any questions, please call Lynn Tannehill at 254-541-5832 or email TannehillLynn@gmail.com

  • How do I find a Bible study?

We offer Bible study in person and online at 9:15am. For online, click the home page and scroll down to Bible Study for the Zoom link to join.

When you enter our foyer a team member will be present to answer any questions you have about available groups that meet on Sunday and throughout the week as well.

If you have questions about available groups, please contact info@gracelago.org

  • What is the preaching like?

Learning about God and the Bible should be enjoyable and encouraging. Pastor Mark presents God’s Word in a loving, caring manner. Mark’s sermon style is best described as narrative – he likes to incorporate stories into his sermons. He believes the Bible is the perfect Word of God and provides us with the teaching we need to live a life that honors our Lord.

  • What are the people like?

The church family at Grace Fellowship are loving and caring. None of us are perfect and we realize that. God tells us to help bear each others burdens. At Grace Fellowship you will find people who are willing to listen and help as you grow in your relationship with Christ.

  • How do I join the church?

Come grow with us and partner with God through the ministries at Grace Fellowship.

Contact Pastor Mark to learn more about what it means to be a member of the church. You will also have an opportunity to come forward during our invitation time on Sunday morning.

ABOUT US

It is our privilege to serve the community of Lago Vista for the name of Jesus Christ!  Grace Fellowship is a multi-generational family church, filled with people of all ages and stages of life. We have programs and Bible studies for children, youth, and adults as well as many other opportunities for you to connect to the life of the church. We hope that you will find yourself at home among us and growing in your relationship with Jesus.

WHAT IS SALVATION?

We want each person to understand what the Bible tells us about this most important doctrine. It is our hope that this look at salvation will help you understand better what God tells us in His Word about your eternal future and have hope and a peace from Him about your home in heaven.

God loved the world (us) so much that He provided a way of salvation.

God created man to have fellowship with him and enjoy his worship for eternity so He gave his Son Jesus as a payment to have a way to heaven. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life." – John 3:16

God wants each person to have an eternity with Him in heaven.

Every person has the opportunity to accept God's love and forgiveness if they will do it. God's arms are open wide and He wants each person to give their lives to Him. "This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." – 1 Timothy 2:3-4

Each person has done things not pleasing to God which is called sin.

This sin is part of each of us and keeps us from knowing God which makes us need forgiveness. "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." – Romans 3:23 This sin has caused us to need a way to be reconciled to Holy God. For us to be brought back into a good relationship with a holy God, we must be forgiven through the cleansing of our sins. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." – Romans 6:23

Salvation is a gift from God and we can’t do anything to save ourselves.

Many people think that in the end their good works will outweigh their bad ones and they will be in heaven. God’s Word tells us that salvation is a gift not to be gained through man’s efforts, but by God’s gift of grace. "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast." – Ephesians 2:8-9

Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the way of salvation not just a belief in God. Jesus is the key to eternal life. "Jesus answered, I am the Way, and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me." – John 14:6

Turning from your sin and confessing Jesus as your Lord with a true change of heart will bring about salvation.

Salvation involves a heart change that gives a life change. A true commitment to Christ will be an eternal action. "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing will come from the Lord." – Acts 3:19 "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." – Romans 10:13
